Fabio Torre graduated in Bologna in 1980. He spent several years travelling and visiting equine clinics and veterinary schools around the world, mostly in United States and Northern Europe. In 1988 founded the Clinica Equina Bagnarola, the first Italian equine referral hospital, where he mostly works in diagnostic orthopaedics and surgery.

His main research interests concerns equine developmental orthopaedic diseases and lameness, particularly in the Standardbred, orthopaedic surgery and diagnostic imaging. He’s author of over 30 original papers published on refereed journals, 2 book chapters and attended as a speaker to 40 congresses and seminars. Past President of SIVE, the Italian Association of Equine Practitioners. In 2002 became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons.
